9. How long can pitchers pitch?

The pitchers in the Mini-Rookies divisions may only pitch one inning in a row so that other players get a chance to also play the pitcher position.

Pitchers in the Rookies, Mini-Minors, and Minors divisions are limited to 21 outs per week during our recreational season. The week begins on Sunday and ends on Saturday. Below are some examples for counting outs against a pitcher:

  • If the first three batters strike out, then the pitcher would have 3 outs for the half-inning.
  • If the first three batters put the ball in play and the pitcher's team then put the next 3 batters out at first, then the pitcher would have 3 outs for the half-inning.
  • If a pitcher comes in and pitches to 7 batters and the pitchers team makes one out before the other team scores 4 runs to end the half inning, then that pitcher would be credited with 1 out for the half-inning.
Pitching eligibility for rescheduled games during the recreational season shall revert to the week the game was originally scheduled.

Penalty for using a pitcher more than 21 out in a week: Forfeit game in which the pitcher exceeded 21 outs with a score of 0 to 7.

There are no pitching limits in the playoff tournament.

10. Who can be in the dugout area during a game?

The only people allowed in the dugout area will be the manages, coaches, scorekeepers, chaperones, and the players on the team roster. Players (unless excused by the manager or coach) must remain in the dugout area during the game. The dugout for the home team will generally be along the first base line, while the dugout for the visiting team will generally be along the third base line, unless changed by the Division Coordinator.
