How long are the games?
The
table below gives the time limits for our games.

Time
Limits for our Games
|
|
|
45
minutes
|
|
|
One
hour and 30 minutes or seven innings, whichever occurs
first.
|
No
new innings may begin after the above time limits. However, any
inning which begins MUST BE COMPLETED, except if
the home team is ahead after the top of the last inning, in which
case the game shall end without the home team batting.
There
will be no "drop dead" time limit which would leave
an inning incomplete and there will be no reverting back to a
previous inning for either the score or outs pitched.
The
bottom half of the last inning MUST BE COMPLETED even
when the home team is behind by more runs than can be scored
in an inning.
Tie
Games: During our recreational season, if the score is
tied after the above time limits, then the game shall simply
end as a tie and each team shall be credited with 1/2 a win
and 1/2 a loss. However, during the playoff tournament at the
end of the season, if the score is tied after the above time
limits, then extra innings shall be played using the International
Tie-Breaker Procedure until a winner is established.
International
Tie-Breaker Procdure: Each team shall begin their at bats
with a runner on second base. The runner on second base shall
be the player that was last out in the previous inning.
Maximum
Runs per Half-Inning Rule: The half-innings for each division
shown below shall end after 3 outs or after a maximum number
of runs as shown by the following table:
|
|
Maximum
Runs per Half-Inning:
|
|
|

|
|

runs
|
|
|
6
runs
|
|
|
(no
run limit)
|
The
play in which the third out occurs or the above maximum number
of runs occur will end the half-inning after the umpire stops
the play. Regardless of how many runs have scored on that play,
the score entered in the official score book shall not be more
than the maximum runs shown above for that half-inning.
15
Run Mercy Rule: For the Rookies, Mini-Minors, and Minors
divisions, if one team leads by 15 or more runs, the manager
of the other team has the option to stop the game.
Minimum
Innings Rule: The table below shows the minimum number
of innings which must be played in order for a game to be an
official game.
|
|
Innings
Required for an Official Game
|
|
|
No
limit (i.e., any game that begins will be official)
|
|
|
At
least 3 innings (or 2 and 1/2 innings if the time limit
has past and the home team is ahead)
|
Games
that have less than the minimum number of innings shown above
or are cancelled due to weather, etc. before the minimum number
of innings are played must be rescheduled in their entirety.
